The Blyth Festival is currently searching for a candidate to fill the seasonal position of Technical Director. The contract will start in early May and conclude in mid-August, subject to change.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Liaise with designers
* Assist with costing of productions
* Assist with build, change-over and storage scheduling
* Supervision of builds
* Research, sourcing and buying of materials and equipment
* Supervise and assist with set changeovers
REQUIRED SKILLS:
* Thorough background in all aspects of technical theatre
* Excellent problem solving skills and a creative spirit
* Proven management experience and good communication skills
* Strong team player
* Experience with purchase orders and financial reporting
* Working knowledge of Health & Safety policies

Additional information: The Blyth Festival's 2012 repertory season begins rehearsals in late May, 2012. Productions close September 1, 2012. Our season is comprised of three new plays (scripts unavailable) and Having Hope at Home by David S. Craig. Please visit our website for more information. We do not accept phone calls to confirm receipt of artist packages. Please understand that we will only contact artists to schedule auditions. Please note that the Blyth Festival has invited Artistic Directors from several summer theatres to attend this year's general auditions. Artists should be prepared to bring additional photos and resumés to the auditions for circulation to guest Artistic Directors.
