The Blyth Festival has a large corps of tremendously loyal volunteers who put in many happy hours of service. Whatever your age, whatever your interests, we have an opportunity for you. Blyth Festival Salutes its Volunteers
The Blyth Festival offers it heartfelt thanks to all its volunteers for their generous contribution of time and service. We simply could not accomplish the goals of the Blyth Festival to produce plays that reflect our audience without the selfless effort and generous support of over 100 volunteers who contribute over 7000 hours each year.
If you love theatre or would like to enrich your community, Artistic Director Eric Coates looks forward to welcoming you aboard the Blyth Festival in 2008. “This season brings a wealth of comedy, drama and headline news to the stage,” says Coates. “I invite you all to talk to me about why the theatre is important to you knowing that great ideas may be triggered by your invaluable input.”
We have volunteer positions to suit everyone needs. Whether it be ushering, decorating, or helping with mailings – there is a vast array of opportunities available at the Blyth Festival. As a volunteer, you have the right to be treated as a co-worker, while working together with both staff and volunteers to achieve the Blyth Festival’s goals. If you are a high school student, volunteering with the Blyth Festival is a fun way to fulfill your 40 hours of community service.
There are many benefits to volunteering with the Blyth Festival. Some volunteer benefits are tangible rewards (like getting to see a play for free) and some are intangible (like the good feeling you get from knowing you are assisting in the development and production of great Canadian theatre.) And, most importantly, as a volunteer, you too will be contributing to our quality of life.
